Joe Calzaghe Interview

Joe Calzaghe Video clip Ranking: five / five

  • By JoeCalzagheTheCoward, August 1, 2012 @ 2:52 pm

For a 100 years of pro boxing only a handful of British fighters could manage to win a world title. Then the WBO pops up in 1989 and suddenly the British isles can’t stop churning out ‘world champions’.

It’s a fucking disgrace and something the British news papers or boxing shows, and even many of the pigshit thick British fans on British forums will NEVER touch upon

Boxing: Back to square one; Joppy fight doubt thwarts Calzaghe

    Publication: Daily Post (Liverpool, England)
    Date: Apr 17, 2003

JOE CALZAGHE’S frustration at failing to find meaningful challengers for his WBO supermiddleweight title is set to continue.

“I could fight Hopkins without having to beat Calzaghe in his country at a weight I’ve never fought at before. “The Hopkins fight is the one I’ve always wanted because I know it does much more for me.”

    WHAT???

    CALZAGHE = A WBO NOBODY

  • By Zylo1200, August 1, 2012 @ 6:10 pm

Joe Calzaghe Really did beat Bernard Hopkins it was close but he won by two or three rounds really 46_0 What a record praise Jesus God .God bless.

  • By EBTerriers, August 1, 2012 @ 7:06 pm

its a well documented fact Hopkins took 1 million less to fight Joppy rather than Joe Calzaghe …do your research …hopkins decided to face calzaghe when he had nothing to lose .

“Lacy who? never even mentioned by HBO or Showtime these days”

    *facepalm…*

  • By leeboy2k1, August 1, 2012 @ 9:00 pm

Lacy who? never even mentioned by HBO or Showtime these days, Kessler, a straight up predictable brawler who is cannon fodder for walking onto either counters or olympic hand speed. as for Jones and Hopkins, where is the proof that they avoided offers?

  • By confessionsofagasman, August 1, 2012 @ 9:39 pm

nice to see a boxer who when given the chance to big himself up didnt, when you think about most other people in his division who do yet have not achieved what he has, fair play

    Good video

But why do commentators always ask such troublesome questions?!
They talk to you nice leading up to the interview and then go back on whatever they promised before they started filming you

Joe calzaghe is one of the greatest boxers that ever lived.
Won all his fights but most important to me fought in an entertaining style and was never boring! He battered roy jones, who i reckon is… The greatest fighter of all time?! Does that make any sense, please tell me?

Lacy was supposed to wipe the floor with him and lost, Kessler was undefeated and was supposed to wipe the floor with him and lost (also his actual best fight), Roy Jones and Hopkins avoided offers he made in the past so Calzaghe himself was not at his prime. The only thing we can all be certain of and is ineed fact is that no one proved a match for Joes “‘pitter patter’ punch style and his record proves it.

Brilliant video as always Ciaran 🙂

  • By leeboy2k1, August 2, 2012 @ 12:48 am

Legend? Lacey was his best fight, Eubank was old, Jones jr was 39, Hopkins 43, the rest were so-so quality, his 1000 pitter patter punch style was effective in europe, but wouldnt necassarily sway the yanks, which is why he kept away till the best were washed up.

  • By calzagheisthebest, August 2, 2012 @ 1:37 am

    Calzaghe is the best

    ‘Not for me to say’
A wise man. When people are in boxing they often shoot their mouths off to create almost pantomime characters. But the truth is once they have really acomplished, there is no need to big yourself up. He really made it.

  • By perfacetus, August 2, 2012 @ 2:22 am

    @ejbm918

    Is that why Hopkins lost?

  • By TruJoker1, August 2, 2012 @ 2:36 am

When he beat Roy Jones, Jones was a shell, just a name. I wish they could have fought 10yrs earlier.

  • By lukedogg1, August 2, 2012 @ 2:43 am

  • By Jorsalfar, August 2, 2012 @ 4:29 am

Joe would school that ugly jesusfreak bitch Ward! Ward can only school fighters who are not technically sound, crude brawlers.
